Has your flight been delayed or cancelled? You may be entitled to compensation.

If your flight was cancelled, you have been delayed for 3 hours or more or if you were simply unable to board your flight then you may be eligible for compensation of up to €600 per person.

Can I make a claim?

In 2012 the UK airports saw nearly 220 million passengers on 1.8 million flights coming and going but some of them took longer than expected.

In March 2013 alone 570 flights from the busiest 9 UK airports were delayed for more than 3 hours.

If your flight was cancelled, you have been delayed for 3 hours or more or if you were simply unable to board your flight then you may be eligible for compensation of up to €600 per person.

If your flight was leaving any of eligible countries or using any of the eligible airlines you may have a claim.

If your delay is due to ‘extraordinary circumstances’ beyond the airline’s control, such as natural disasters, certain strikes or civil unrest then they may not have to pay you.

Recently however there have been changes after a European Court ruling that a ‘mechanical failure’ cannot be assumed to be an ‘extraordinary circumstance’; only in specific ‘unforeseeable’ circumstances will this be the case.
